Read & Share Your Stories

We need your help to tell the story of poverty in America and how it’s affecting real people in local communities across the nation. Statistics show the impact of poverty on health, education and job security; however, when we combine statistics with personal stories, we paint the most compelling picture of what it means to face poverty in America.

Ready to tell your story?

Sharing your story helps the Tavis Smiley Foundation understand more about poverty in America. We use this information to educate policymakers, the media, and the public. When you submit your story, you agree that we may use, share, and make public your story, using only your first name, city and state. We will not share or make public your last name, address, phone number, or email address unless we contact you and gain your permission to do so.
